New Apex Armor Solutions™ Branded Gear

About Apex Armor Solutions™ branded gear:

Our goal was to provide a selection of hand picked, high quality gear that met key design criteria, cutting out the guesswork and presenting you with a streamlined catalog of essential gear.

With over a decade and a half of experience in the field, we’ve seen gear evolve over the years from the bulky (but beginning to modernize) early 2010’s designs to modern ultra minimalist designs.

We’ve also seen all the curiosities and innovative in-between designs that didn’t make the cut into mainstream popularity.

We remembered a time when armor was not widely available to civilians and the selection on well designed, modern tactical gear was limited.

However, today is different. The market is now saturated with thousands of options to choose from and decision fatigue can be real.

So our goal is simple. Pick the best design philosophies gathered over 15+ years of our own personal experience, 6 years of customer feedback and market research.

Find high quality manufacturing partners that we would trust not only our name to, but your life to.

Materials and Sourcing:

Much like with other popular brands, with our new Apex Armor Solutions™ branded gear, we decided to source globally through regions such as Europe and North America.

We ensured that our manufacturers use high quality US Made materials and fixtures such as Cordura fabric, YKK Zippers, Duraflex or ITW Buckles. Importantly, we also ensured that our gear is NIR compliant, which means it does not glow under the observation of night vision with an infared illuminator.

We tested various designs and samples from over a dozen manufacturers.

We went through samples literally stitch by stitch. Ensuring proper bartack reinforcement stitching was being used on load bearing joints and to even make sure that high quality thread is being used.

We stress and torture tested our equipment by attempting to tear stitching and seams apart or break hardware.

Highlighted Products:

We want to introduce a couple of our key new products that we are incredibly proud to offer. These products represent the flagships of our new in house product line.

1. Apex Armor Solutions™ RidgeLine™ Plate Carrier & RidgeLine™ Essentials Armor Bundle Pro - with Highcom Level 4 Plates

This is the new version of our old Assaulters Plate Carrier/ Essentials Armor Bundle, now offered with the new RidgeLine™ Plate Carrier and our Loaded Placard Pro™.

This new carrier comes with full 500D Laser Cut Cordura construction and now comes standard with a structural quick detach 3" cummerbund that offers vertical stiffness while retaining horizontal flexibility. This is key in ensuring a comftorable fit, that bears weight at the lowest possible weight and bulk.

This carrier was designed to be low profile, lightweight and modular, fully compatible with all aftermarket placard inserts and many other aftermarket accessories.

It is also fully compatible with our upcoming Apex Armor Solutions™ branded placard inserts and separate cummerbunds.

The platebags are lined with a moisture wicking material that also acts as velcro, allowing you to attach comfort pads and airflow comfort channels directly to the inside face of the platebags.

The Loaded Placard Pro™ is a 4 piece design with the main placard body being a kangaroo pouch that houses a triple rifle magazine insert, a central divider and a large zippered general purpose pouch.

We then of course pair this with our best selling Highcom 4S17M, 4SAS7 or 4S16 Level 4 plates as part of our RidgeLine™ Essentials Armor Bundle - Pro kit.

2. Apex Armor Solutions™ American Chicom™ Low Profile Chest Rig

We wanted a funny name! The American Chicom™ Chest rig isn't Chinese, but it acomplishes the same goal as the OG Chicom chest rig that the communists wore to sling 7.62x39 at us Americans back in the day. Their goal, much like ours was simple. A low cost, simple and low profile chest rig that holds just the essentials (or well... is intended to just hold the essentials that is, more on that later). Our American Chicom™ Low Profile Chest Rig was designed to hold 3x rifle mags (5.56 AR, 7.62x39 AK or 5.45x39 AK mags), as well as 3 pistol mags, a radio and a smoke grenade/ flashbang grenade.

All wrapped up in a simple, low profile and packable design that can easily fit into a backpack or go over a simple slick plate carrier like our Agilite Sub-Zero.

Now you know how we said it was just intended to hold the essentials but we had a bit more to say about that...? Well... it turns out elastic is... flexible. We managed to shove 13x AR-15 Magazines and 5x double stack Glock magazines with a hypothetical maximum ammo capacity of 585 rounds of 5.56x45mm and 215 rounds of 9x19mm ammo.

Yep... it sounds ridiculous, but if you use Magpul Pmag 40's with +5 extensions and Glock 33 round mags with +10 extensions... it fits.

Its weirdly comftorable too actually.

3. Apex Armor Solutions™ Kydex 3+3 Triple Rifle and Pistol Magazine Placard

Our Kydex 3+3 Triple Rifle and Pistol Magazine Placard is meant to be a simple plate carrier mounted front magazine placard for carrying 3x AR-15/ M4 magazines and 3x Pistol Magazines (single or double stack).

Constructed of lightweight 500D Cordura with Kydex thermoplastic inserts and frontal Elastic pistol magazine pouches, this placard will keep your magazines in place while you run around.

This hybrid Kydex plus elastic approach offers a distinct advantage of being able to re-index your rifle magazines with one hand, or run them without elastic bungee retention, while having frontal pistol mag pouches that lay flat once empty if needed. These frontal pistol magazine pouches are also meant to be flexible, allowing you to use them to house pistol magazines, tourniquets or whatever other items fit!
