DESCRIPTION:
The Tencate Cratus CR6450SA is a top of the line, ultra thin, ultra light, Boron Carbide Ceramic (tile array) and Polyethelene Special Threat Plate.
Coming in at just 4.3lbs for a 10x12, 0.6" thick and multi hit rated for M855A1, this makes for an excellent lightweight overt plate or a low visibility concealment plate. 
The highest end materials are used in the construction of this plate, which is what allows it to be so light and thin, without sacrificing reliability or protection from common rounds.
 
All Tencate Ceramic plates are made up of a tile array system which is different than that of most traditional ceramic plates. Their tile array system allows for better multi hit capabilities and allows for damage to be localized to individual smaller tiles. 
 
The Tencate CR6450SA is a Ceramic Special Threat plate, which means its rating falls outside of the traditional NIJ's Level III or IV. 
The CR6450SA is a plate that was designed for the military, which has different requirements than the civilian NIJ rating system. 
The CR6450SA is rated to stop M855A1, M193, M855, 7.62x39 API (Multi Hit) and is unofficially also rated for 1-2 shots of .308 M80 ball, 7.62x54R LPS and .30-06 FMJ according to testing by Velocity Systems.
