Description:
The Highcom RSTP is a lightweight and ultra thin Level 3+ ICW (Additional Special Threat Tested) plate with exceptional ballistic performance.
Starting at only 2.5lbs per plate, 0.55" thick and featuring a multi curve profile, the Highcom RSTP makes an excellent candidate for a low vis plate.
Engineered with the highest grade ceramic materials and UHMWPE (Polyethelene) backing, the RSTP is rated for a modified US Military SAPI standard as well as NIJ 0101.06 Level 3 with a Level IIIA Soft Armor Backer.
This means this plate is rated to stop multiple hits of .308 M80 ball, 5.56 M193, M855 and 7.62x39 Mild Steel Core.
The RSTP will stop M193, M855 and 7.62x39 on it's own, but we recommend a IIIA backer to acheive its full rating against .308 M80 ball.
The Highcom RSTP is an excellent option for someone looking for a low visibility and lightweight plate for concealment or general purpose overt use.

Our department bought 15 sets of these and issued them to us as daily wear patrol plates. John was really helpful in the process in helping me choose out an option, of which I pitched to procurement. These were a huge step up from what we had before and I barely feel the weight wearing them for 12 hours every day.

I bought an SA3920 soft armor vest from Apex to wear for work and I'm loving it. I ended up getting a pair of RSTP ICWs later on and its a really great combo. I know these can be worn standalone as well so now I have a scalable setup. These plates are ridiculously thin and light. Compared to what I was issued back in the army, these are half the weight if not less.
I was looking for a plate mainly to srop 5.56 and 7.62x39 steel core and the RSTPs ticked all the boxes for me. These are stupid thin and light, huge upgrade from my RMA level 4s.
Light and slim. Haven’t been shot at so can’t really testify to its capability to stop rounds. Apex shipped armor expeditiously. Happy to do business with them.
