Introducing the new Highcom 3S14M, an ultra lightweight Level 3+ plate which is multi hit rated for steel core threats.
The 3S14M is a high performing ceramic plate with a UHMWPE (Polyethelene) backer manufactured with XTclave high pressure composite curing and consolidation technology.
Weighing in at just 3.6lbs for a 10x12 shootes cut plate the Highcom 3S14M is the lightest steel core rated Level 3+ plate on the market with true edge to edge protection.
The 3S14M is multi-hit rated for 7.62x54R Light Penetrating Steel (LPS), 7.62x51mm M80 Ball, .30-06 FMJ/ JSP, 5.56x45mm M193, M855, 5.45x39mm 7N6 and 7.62x39mm Mild Steel Core.
No tricks here, just high tech engineering and high end materials. The ballistic backer and ceramic material extends fully to the edges, without any type of foam filler or reduced strikeface.
Some manufacturers exploit NIJ testing protocol and incorporate 1-2" non ballistic foam borders into their plates to save weight, however we do not support this practice and do not carry plates with foam borders.
The 3S14M acheives its industry leading light weight through high end polyethelene materials and innovative new manufacturing techniques (XTclave autoclave).
There is no other plate on the market that provides this level of protection at this weight.
